Leva’a might have committed suicide: Police The police are investigating reports that former Member of Parliament, Leva’a Sauaso, who died on Wednesday night, committed suicide. This was confirmed by Assistant Police Commissioner, L

He did not give details saying he did not want to compromise their investigation.Yesterday, a report on RNZI said a 22 rifle found behind the deceased at his private home at Vaitele has been taken for forensic examination.

The 69-year-old was a former ruling HRPP party MP. He represented Aiga i le Tai in Parliament from 2001 to 2006.
The former MP was banished from his village of Apolima more than five years ago.

At his home yesterday, a family member told the Weekend Observer they had no comment to make.
"Our family is in mourning and we have no comment to make at this stage," he said.
