A conflict between members of one family at the village of Malie saw two men treated in hospital, last Saturday. The incident, according to a source, was a dispute within the family, which got out of hand and ended with machetes being used.

“Police at Afega were called to assist but when they arrived, two men were

critically injured from the fight,” the source said. The men suffered machete cuts to their backs, arms and chests. Assistant Police Commissioner, Le’aupepe Fatu Pula was not available to comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, a 66-year-old man from Malie is still missing and the police are still searching for him.
It is not known if his disappearance has anything to do with the Saturday evening incident.

According to reports from Police, Tauvae Heremoni was last seen on Sunday morning and attempts by his family to look for him were unsuccessful.
As of yesterday, the police still had no leads on his whereabouts and they have appealed to the public for assistance.
